Day 1: Arrive Delhi (N)

Day at Leisure

Day 2: Delhi
Arrive in Delhi and overnight at the Maidens Hotel. Afternoon tour of the architectural grandeur of Lutyens' New Delhi with highlights including the Parliament House, the War Memorial Arch and the Viceregal Palace. (N)

Day 3: Agra
Explore Old Delhi on a morning guided tour to discover iconic sites such as the Red Fort, Jama Masjid mosque and Raj Ghat. Afternoon drive to Agra.


Day 4: Agra
Sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, a truly magical time to gaze in wonder at this ode to eternal love, built by Shah Jahan on the death of his bride Mumtaz Mahal. After breakfast, visit Agra Fort and in the visit Mehtab Bagh, to see the sun set over the Taj Mahal. (B)

Day 5: Orchha • Khajuraho
Take the morning train to Jhansi and then travel by road to Orchha to explore the Bundela monuments, which are still in fairly good condition. Continue to Khajuraho for an overnight stay 

Day 6: Fly to Varanasi
Explore the extraordinary temples at Khajuraho before taking a flight to Varanasi for a 2-night stay. Witness the evening Aarti ceremony performed every night on the banks of River Ganges at sunset (B)

Day 7: Varanasi
Take an early morning boat ride along the river Ganges and see the famous bathing 'ghats', the stone steps which lead down to the river where the gathered faithful ritually cleanse themselves. Optional afternoon walking tour along the Bengali Tola Riverside. (B)

Days 8-9: Fly to Kathmandu
Transfer to the airport and fly to Kathmandu via Delhi. Stay 3 nights . Following day at leisure. (B)

Day 10: Kathmandu
Morning tour of Kathmandu, including Durbar Square and the Golden Swayambhunath stupa. In the afternoon visit Bhaktapurm the most medieval city in Nepal and one of the three kingdoms of the Mallas. Here you visit Lion Gate, the Gallery, the Golden Gate and the Palace of 55 Windows. (B)

Day 11: Chitwan National Park
After breakfast, travel by road to Chitwan National Park for 2 nights . Containing a sizeable wildlife population, Chitwan was once a centre for hunting trips that were popular with the British and Nepali aristocrats. Afternoon jungle walk. (B, L, D)

Day 12: Chitwan National Park
Early morning elephant-back safari in search of rhinos and tigers followed by a boat safari in small dug-out style boats. You may spot marsh crocodiles, fresh water dolphin, otter and a wide variety of birds along the Narayani River. Afternoon 4x4 wildlife safari. (B, L, D)

Day 13: Pokhara
Drive to Pokhara and stay 2 nights . Afternoon tour of Pokhara which includes visits to the city, new market, Tibetan Camp, Gupteshwar Cave, Seti Gorge and Devi Fall. (B)

Day 14: Pokhara
Morning trek to the World Peace Stupa for views over Pokhara and the Himalaya. Continue on foot to Phewa lake and take a boat back to Pokhara. Afternoon at leisure with optional walking tours in the beautiful surrounding area. (B)

Day 15: Kathmandu
Travel back to Kathmandu. Afternoon at leisure.
