Days 1-2: Fly to Panama City

Fly to Panama City for a 2-night stay. Explore the city, including the Casco Viejo and the Biomuseo designed by Frank Gehry. (N) (B)

Day 3: Panama Canal • Gamboa rainforest

Take a half-day shared transit on the canal (Thu, Fri or Sat.) Continue to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort for 1 night. (B, L)

Days 4-5: Fly to David • Boquete

Optional early morning birdwatching tour in Soberanía. Fly to David and transfer to Boquete to explore the coffee plantations and the cloud forest. (B)

Days 6-8: Osa Peninsula

Drive across the Costa Rican border to the Osa Peninsula. Stay in a lodge for 3 nights and explore the national park. (B, L, D)

Days 9-10: Fly to San José • Poas volcano

Fly to San José and travel north to Xandari Lodge. Visit the turquoise crater lake of Poas volcano. (B)
