Day 4: Fayoum

Day 5: Minya

Full-day sailing from Beni Suef to Minya, a city 245km south of Cairo and a journey of 12 hours. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Beni Hassan

Early morning drive from Minya to the ancient Egyptian burial site of Beni Hassan, with four of its 39 tombs open to the public: Baqet III, Khety, Amenemhet and Khnumhotep II. Mid-morning, visit the el- Amarna site, including Akhenaton’s tomb and Great Palace. After lunch, visit the necropolis of Tuna el-Gebel, including the tombs of Petosiris and Isadora, and then drive to El Ashmunein to visit the museum, the Temple of Thoth and the sanctuary of Amun.

Day 7: Asyut

Morning visit to the Tel El Amarna to view the northern tombs of Ahmose, Meryre, Pentum Panehesy, the Royal tomb of Akhenaten, the Great Palace of Akhenaten, the small and great temples of Aten. Afternoon sailing to Asyut. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Sohag
