Itinerary-16 Days 


Day 1: Fly to Cape Town

Day 2: Cape Town

Arrive into Cape Town where you will be met at the door of your aircraft and taken to pick up your hire car. Drive to the Newlands suburb of Cape Town and stay 3 nights at the Hotel (, a historic property set in lush gardens which used to be the home of Lady Anne Barnard. (B)

Day 3: Cape Town

We recommend a day exploring Cape Town including the V&A Waterfront and Table Mountain (weather permitting). (B)

Day 4: Cape Town

We recommend a panoramic tour of the Cape Peninsula. The Cape of Good Hope, Kirstenbosch botanical gardens, Simon's Town and Chapman's Peak are some of the highlights. (B)

Day 5: To Stellenbosch

Drive from Cape Town to Stellenbosch. Stay 2 nights at the Hotel (Deluxe room), the oldest hotel in South Africa which has been renovated to include modern touches. (B)

Day 6: Stellenbosch

Day at leisure. We suggest wine tasting in one of the many wine estates just outside the town, taking walks in the nearby nature reserves and visiting the nearby towns of Franschhoek and Paarl. During whale watching season (July to November), a visit to the seaside town of Hermanus is recommended. (B)

Day 7: To Marataba

Morning and afternoon at leisure. Drive to Cape Town airport and drop off your hire car. Fly to Johannesburg and transfer to Lodge (tented suite) in the Marakele National Park where you will stay for 3 nights. Each suite has its own private deck overlooking the sweeping plains and meandering river below. All of the large wildlife species, from elephants and rhinos to the big cats, as well as an amazing variety of birds (including the largest colony of endangered Cape vultures in the world, with more than 800 breeding pairs) have settled here. Days 8-9: Marataba

Morning and afternoon wildlife activities including safari drives and walks in search of the Big Five (lions, rhinos, elephants, leopards and buffaloes). You will see lots of other wildlife, as well as unique types of flora including rare yellowwood and cedar trees. (B, L, D)

Day 10: To Mauritius

Transfer to Johannesburg airport and fly to Mauritius. Stay for 5 nights at Hotel on the northern coast of Mauritius, a boutique property that combines traditional Mauritian architecture with contemporary exotic decoration. (B)

Days 11-14: Mauritius

Days at leisure. Spend these days relaxing by the pool, book a spa treatment or enjoy some of the activities on offer such as a catamaran cruise. (B)

Day 15: Fly back home

Transfer to the airport and fly back home. (B)

Day 16: Fly back home
